MAMA.codes is a parent-powered business, founded by 3 London mothers with deep digital experience, and fuelled by every parent's desire to give their children the best start in future-ready skills. 

Coding is on the national curriculum from age 5 in England, and our mission is to empower and excite teachers, parents and children about this vital 21st century skill. Quite simply, we take the fear and complexity OUT of coding education, and put the fun and creativity IN.

Our passion began with a desire to find genuinely creative ways for our own children to use their screentime, and we didn’t want our daughters (then aged 4-6) to miss out on learning basic coding skills early in life. Our bespoke curriculum teaches coding as a language through storytelling, rhyme and song, and is used in schools, code clubs and at home. 

We start out running MAMA.codes “hacks” where we shared our coding projects with local families. Suddenly, our living rooms were filled with parents coding animated jokes over a drink and a slice of cake. We then partnered with local London primary schools and specialist coding teachers in the UK and US to develop our unique programme of resources - one set for the 3-5's, and another for the 5-7's. Finally, to top it off, we also received a great reception from teachers at the Bett 2017 EdTech show, and have sold 7 subscriptions to schools with a pipeline of 200 more. 

In January, we launched weekly creative code clubs and holiday camps in London, which have been flying off the shelves with next to no marketing spend. Our focus now is to use our funding to scale these via a model of local Reps marketing to families and schools in their local areas. We also plan to launch a family subscription product, which will allow families anywhere in the world to embark on their coding journey with MAMA.codes.

Rep growth

We have 4 Reps so far, we aim to grow this to 179 by the end of 2018, 950+ by the end of 2019 and  2,800+ by end of 2020.

Code clubs

We've run 80+ code clubs so far in 6 locations, and as we bring on more Reps we can exponentially increase the number of sessions.

Marketing

We're oversubscribed with very little marketing. As we bring on more reps we want to supercharge this so that every code club is full from the start.

Schools

7 schools are already onboard with annual subscriptions and we've agreed a group discount with the Girls Day School Trust who represent 24 independent UK schools. 

Parents

Parents love what we do, read the feedback below! As we grow, we want to increase the parent resources available including home coding projects and parent education on positive screentime.
